The ACR128 DualBoost is a dual interface smart card reader compliant with the ISO 7816 parts 1-3 standard for types A and B contact cards, and the ISO 14443 parts 1-4 standard for types A and B contactless cards.

Conforming to the PC/SC specification, it combines contact and contactless functionalities into one reader; thus making it an appropriate tool for dual interface applications such as settling online payments using an EMV Level 1 contact card, and checking outstanding balance in a Mifare contactless membership card.

Meanwhile, the ACR128 DualBoost Smart Card Development Kit (ACR128 SDK) provides users with sample applications, codes, tools and utilities that allow them to experience an optimal utilization of the ACR128 DualBoost’s capabilities. The demo application is a small-scale database application showing users how the ACR128 DualBoost can be implemented in a smart card-based application. Furthermore, the ACR128 SDK also includes tools, utilities, and sample codes written in several programming languages to help developers create a variety of real world applications. Manuals and other reference materials are also included to help one understand how the device is operated by sending commands to contactless tags and the device’s peripherals.
