The ACR38DT DualKey Smart Card Reader offers solutions for both logical and physical access controls based on the SIM-sized combi smart card technology that combines the functionalities of contact and contactless cards.

ACR38DT Contactless/Contact DualKey is an extension of the ACR38T SIMTracker II. It has full ACR38T functionalities with contactless features as added value.

i) Serves as a plug-in (SIM-sized) card reader:
Despite its compact size, ACR38DT DualKey is a high speed USB device that is compatible with SIM sized smart cards (plug-in cards). Now compliant with the CCID specification, ACR38DT offers a plug-and-play solution that eliminates the need for driver installation and driver-system compatibility assessment. It is highly suitable for portable applications, as it is plugged into the PC’s USB port without the need for additional cable or wiring.

ii) Serves as a contactless card:
The contactless functionality of ACR38DT is made possible by an embedded antenna coil that enables the contactless part of the SIM-sized combi card to work as a contactless card and perform read and write operations.

The ACR38DT dual interface token is a reliable and effective high quality reader, designed for convenient use and harmony with other PC peripherals. Without incurring additional costs and compromising security, it enables one to work with applications where two different card interfaces—contact and contactless—can share data and be accessed in the same system. It is ideal for electronic commerce, physical access control, home banking, e-purse facilities, secure computer access, transportation and GSM applications.
