ACS Talks about NFC and Digital Mobile Wallet in Cards & Payments Asia 2014

HONG KONG, 7 May, 2014 - Advanced Card Systems Ltd. (ACS), a top worldwide supplier of smart cards and smart card readers, delivered talks about NFC and digital mobile wallet adoption in the recently concluded Cards & Payments Asia 2014 exhibition.

In his talk entitled, “Non-Payment NFC,” Gilbert Leung, ACS’s Vice President, Sales and Marketing, advocated exploring more purposes for NFC. Gilbert showed successful cases of the use of NFC for improved transit, parking, marketing, loyalty programs, access control, education, and training. These application areas are not only key to bringing NFC mainstream, but also represent multiple revenue streams. A wide range of transactions can be performed through NFC devices. Desktop readers, handheld readers, and even readers modules prove that NFC can be used in different environments, and for all sorts of application areas.

Meanwhile, Chiqui Acedilla, ACS’s Sales Manager, delivered a talk entitled “Easing Into Digital Wallet through Loyalty Applications.”
Chiqui citedas an example the e-PLUS TaptoPay project, where an all-in-one, multi-purpose, stored value contactless smart card is used by patrons of the largest mall operator and retail company in the Philippines. ACS was chosen as the sole technology partner to provide this nation-wide, end-to-end loyalty and payment solution.
