ACS an Exhibitor on APSCA’s 9th Government Forum on Electronic Identity

HONG KONG, 22 Nov, 2012 - Advanced Card Systems Ltd. (ACS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Advanced Card Systems Holdings Ltd., SEHK: 8210), Asia Pacific's top supplier and one of the world's top 3 suppliers of PC-linked smart card readers (Source: Frost & Sullivan) will be participating in a forum entitled, Next Generation eID: From Offline Tokens to Online Services. Organized by Asia Pacific Smart Card Association (APSCA), the event will be on Nov 27 to 28, in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. ACS will be in Booth A1.
ACS has supplied eID solutions that enable citizens to avail of online services. Examples include the ACR38, which has been used by a European government to verify the identities of children, so that they can use online chatrooms, safe from malicious adults that may steer them to unlawful activities. The ACR38 has also been used by another European government to authenticate and provide e-health and e-government services to its millions of citizens.
However, these large-scale solutions exhibit the capabilities of only one device. ACS hopes that through its attendance in the forum, it will be able to interact with different government officers and propose solutions that most closely match their government’s needs.
