ACS offers elective course in De La Salle University-Manila
July 3, 2008
DLSU was founded as a college in 1911 by the Brothers of the Christian Schools. Today, it is one of the top universities in the Philippines. The smart card technology course syllabus was drafted and the course is being conducted by ACS experienced professionals as an elective course for DLSU’s Software Technology Department this year.
Currently, the students are using state-of-the-art ACS products such as the ACR128 DualBoost Smart Card Reader, the ACR38 Smart Card Reader and the ACOS3 Microprocessor Card to explore the capabilities and understand real-world applications of smart card technology. Hence, the program provides students direct exposure to smart card technology and its limitless potential.
“Through this cooperation with DLSU, ACS hopes that the students will develop and implement some smart card solutions for the University and other organizations in the Philippines that can be beneficial to the country’s IT industry growth,” ACS CEO and Chairman Denny Wong remarked.
Kai Shan Fernandez, Vice-Dean of the College of Computer Studies, expressed her appreciation to ACS for sharing its expertise with students who are enthusiastic about learning and might be interested in pursuing a career in the smart card industry, particularly in ACS. Likewise, she welcomes another elective course in co-operation with ACS for a different group of students in the near future.
