ACS Awarded with The 2007 Top Smart Card Reader Supplier in China

ACS Hong Kong, 15 May 2008 – Advanced Card Systems Ltd. (HONG KONG STOCK Exchange: 8210, www.acs.com.hk), Asia Pacific's number one supplier in PC-linked smart card readers industry (Source: research report issued by Frost & Sullivan), is proud to announce that it was awarded with "The 2007 Top Smart Card Reader Supplier in China" in the 10th International Smart Card and RFID Technology Exhibition and Purchase, China 2008 (SCPC 2008).
ACS stood out in the competition for the SMART prize, the highest accolade in the Chinese smart card industry. The event was sponsored jointly by China Information Industry Chamber of Commerce and China Software Industry Association and supervised by the State Leading Group Office of Golden Cards Projects Coordination. ACS was honored with “The Top Smart Card Reader Provider 2007”. Gilbert Leung, ACS’s Sales Director, received this prize on behalf of the company.
The SMART prize was established to publicize the outstanding achievements and to build a role model in the Chinese smart card industry so as to facilitate its development. All the award applicants went through strict appraisal steps including purchaser voting, on-line public voting and expert commenting. Awarded with the prize has fully proved ACS's excellent reputation, good product quality and great after-sales service.
After receiving the prize, Mr. Leung was invited to attend an interview. He stated that ACS had been devoted to the smart card industry for 13 years since 1995 and successfully popularized its products in various fields such as banking, transportation and telecommunication. "As a Hong Kong trans-national company entering the mainland market, what ACS depends are its experience of successful projects in worldwide as well as advanced smart card products,” he continued, “we are proud to bring the world’s first NFC card reader compliant to CCID Standard – ACR122 into the world market last year. This innovative product has been successfully applied in a VoIP phone project for Octopus card users in Hong Kong. We hope we can carry out more smart card projects in China in the near future.”
