ACS Talks About NFC for Marketing in NFC Solutions Summit 2013

HONG KONG, 23 May, 2013 - Advanced Card Systems Ltd. Speaking on behalf of ACS was Robert Merkert, ACS’s President for the Americas.

Robert, also known as Bob, pRobert Merkert @ NFC Solutions Summit 2013resented business cases showing the potentials of NFC outside of payment. For example, he said that NFC may be used to disseminate both general and personalized information by deploying NFC readers at key points, for the public to use in conjunction with mobile devices. Information may include maps, metro information, promotional coupons, and so on.

NFC may also be used to provide products and services more efficiently. Tickets for movies and events, for example, may be purchased more conveniently through NFC applications than through websites or physical stores.

Finally, Bob showed how NFC may be used to increase interactivity in advertising. Unlike traditional media, NFC solutions can be used to transmit richer content, enable users to sample products such as games and videos, and so forth. (An example of such a solution is ACS’s ACR1222U-J4, which transmits URLs, mobile coupons, and other content to Mobile-Felica enabled phones.)

Together, these benefits brought about by NFC enable marketers to design more efficient, targeted and memorable campaigns.
