ACS reports financial results for the first half year of 2013

Hong Kong, 15 Aug, 2013 – Advanced Card Systems Holdings Ltd. (ACS, SEHK: 8210), mother company of Advanced Card Systems Limited, Asia Pacific’s number 1 supplier and one of the world’s top 3 suppliers of PC-linked smart card readers (Source: Frost & Sullivan), announces its financial results for the first half year of 2013.
The sales revenue increased by 19% to HK$86.4 million in the first six months of 2013 comparing with the first half year of 2012 the gross profit by 26% to HK$50.6 million and the net profit after tax by 24% to HK$8.9 million. The higher gross profit margin of 59% in this half year versus 55% in the last year was owing to a bigger software content in the sales.
Established in 1995, ACS started its business primarily as a developer and supplier of PC-linked contact smart card readers and proprietary card operating systems. Then it extended its product portfolio by developing and supplying readers with pin-pad and display, portable reader terminals and more sophisticated card operating systems. Now it also develops and supplies automatic fare collection and customer loyalty systems.
