Solutions
Faster transactions. More affordable operations. More efficient collection. Our transport solution, TapToPay, makes these possible through an automatic fare collection (AFC) system that can cover bus, rail, ferry, road toll, parking, fastfood establishments and convenience stores. An AFC system can increase convenience in a city and improve its image. It can broaden customer bases for transport systems and establishments, because end users would naturally gravitate towards solutions that make their lives easier. All in all, an AFC system makes a city a better place to be. There are multiple components for an AFC system , and we develop all of our technologies in-house. Our system enables users to pay for goods and services city-wide, using contactless technology. Not only does this lessen risks and costs associated with handling cash, it also gives merchants a platform for better record management and leaner, meaner operations. An AFC system generally lends transparency and efficiency to transactions. For further details, please visit www.taptopay.com. Who may put up an AFC system? TapToPay may be deployed city-wide (covering different establishments and forms of transport) or on a smaller scale (covering limited forms of transport). Clients may be from the public or private sector. They range from city planners and government agencies, to transport operators looking to increase efficiency. TapToPay is currently streamlining transportation in parts of Africa, South America and Asia. Email us at [email protected] to find a transport solution that matches your needs.

ACS supplied 100,000 ACR38 Smart Card Readers for an online home banking project in an East Asian country
Hong Kong, 6 Feb, 2008 - Advanced Card Systems Ltd. (Hong Kong Stock Exchange: 8210, www.acs.com.hk), Asia Pacific's number one supplier in PC-linked smart card readers industry (Source: Frost & Sullivan), announces that it has supplied its ACR38 Smart Card Reader for an online home banking project in an East Asian country. This online home banking project, cooperated with a leading local bank and the largest telecommunication company in that country, makes use of VoIP (Voice-over-Internet Protocol) desktop phone together with ACS smart card technologies to provide a convenient and secure environment for bank card holders to enjoy banking services at home. After launching this project, the bank card holders can manage their day-to-day banking transactions at home without using a PC. "Servicing a customer online is the most economical way for a bank. Most of the banks intend to adopt a service model in which almost all transactions can be conducted online and done by authenticating the documents through digital signatures from smart cards,” says Gilbert Leung, Sales Director of ACS. “We are delighted that ACS was selected by the bank to contribute to this project with its smart card expertise. One of the challenges we had to overcome was the issue of reader compatibility with different working environments. The project requires our smart card reader to be connected to a designated VoIP desktop phone supplied by the telecommunication company, rather than connecting to a PC. “ About ACR38 Smart Card Reader ACR38 is a powerful and reliable smart card reader that supports smart cards conforming to ISO 7816 and works efficiently with various memory cards as well as microprocessor cards with T=0 or T=1 protocols. The ACR38 is fully PC/SC (Personal Computer/ Smart Card) compliant and supports various operating systems such as MAC, Linux and Microsoft 98 onwards. The device is EMV 2000 Level 1 (Europay, MasterCard and Visa) certified, making it suitable for bank applications that use EMV cards. Moreover, its Bridge Casing form supports and facilitates vertical insertion and removal of smart cards. For more information, please visit www.acs.com.hk/acr38.php.
