• ACS Products Support Electric Vehicle Inspection in Japan

  HONG KONG, 25 July, 2023 — Advanced Card Systems Ltd. (ACS), Asia Pacific's top supplier and one of the world's top 3 suppliers of PC-linked smart card readers (Source: Frost & Sullivan), is delighted to announce that ACS products are now compatible with electronic vehicle inspection operations in Japan.  Since January 2023, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan has implemented digitization of the electronic vehicle inspection, greatly reducing the size of the inspection certificate as well as the required application procedures.  The new inspection certificate will be in an A6 sized IC Tag format, and allows organizations or users to revise records such as income and valid period of the certificate.    To support the digitization process, the Ministry plans to launch a “Vehicle Inspection App” which allows users to view their vehicle inspection information on a smartphone, tablet or computer by scanning their IC Tag.  NFC readers can also be used by users or inspectors to scan and read IC Tags with a computer.    The following ACS products have been confirmed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism’s for inspection use.
