  • ACS Launches ACR122 and ACR128 Contactless Reader SDK

ACS, Hong Kong, 1 Sep, 2008 - Advanced Card Systems Ltd. (HONG KONG STOCK Exchange: 8210, www.acs.com.hk), Asia Pacific's number one supplier in PC-linked smart card readers industry (Source: research report issued by Frost & Sullivan), launches its ACR122 NFC Contactless Smart Card Reader Software Development Kit (ACR122 SDK) and ACR128 DualBoost Smart Card Reader Software Development Kit (ACR128 SDK). The two types of readers perform different functions and serve different markets. The ACR122 is the world’s first CCID-compliant NFC reader, supporting all major contactless cards and tags including MiFare, ISO14443 Type A and B Cards, FeliCa and NFC tags. The ACR128 DualBoost is a dual interface smart card reader fully compliant not only to ISO 7816 Part 1-3 Class A, B standard for the Contact smart card, but also to ISO 14443 Part 1-4 Type A, B standard for the Contactless Card. The software development kit (SDK) lets the users experience the features and capabilities of the device. Both SDKs contains sample codes written in different programming language, such as Delphi 7, Visual Basic 6, Visual C++ 6, Visual C++ 2005 (x64), Visual C# 2005, and Visual Basic .Net 2005. These sample codes showcases how to control the device peripherals and how to communicate with the smart cards. Furthermore, the tools and utilities enable the users to perform reader and card-related operations. In the ACR128 SDK, an additional small-scale database demo application is included and it shows the users how the ACR128 DualBoost can be implemented in a smart card based application. With the help of SDKs, the users will find no difficulty in making their own smart-card applications with the ACR122 and the ACR128 DualBoost. • ACS Launches APG82 PINhandy OTP (One Time Password) Generator

ACS, Hong Kong, 2 Jul 2008 - Advanced Card Systems Ltd. (HONG KONG STOCK Exchange: 8210, www.acs.com.hk), Asia Pacific's number one supplier in PC-linked smart card readers industry (Source: research report issued by Frost & Sullivan), launches its APG82 PINhandy OTP (One Time Password) Generator. What is APG82 PINhandy?APG82 PINhandy OTP generator is a compact, completely standalone, low-cost, handheld smart card device that contains a numeric keypad and a display. Certified with stringent international standards as Mastercard® Card Authentication Program (CAP) and VISA Dynamic Passcode Authentication (DPA), and EMV Level 1, you can use the device in a variety of payment and bank applications. How APG82 PINhandy works?Using two-factor authentication, the cardholder inserts the EMV payment card (something you have) in the APG82 PINhandy, enters the PIN (something you know) using the device keyboard and a dynamic one-time password is generated and showed on the APG82 PINhandy display. Cardholder can then use this password to perform secure online transactions, telephone orders or e-banking logons. Why APG82 PINhandy is secure and can minimize cost of specialized programming? Having no physical connection to the cardholder’s internet authentication device like PC, Macintosh, or smart phone, the unconnected mode of APG82 PINhandy makes it impossible for hackers to steal the sensitive information in the card. Also as APG82 PINhandy is a standalone device, specialized programming like software drivers is not required. Why APG82 PINhandy is durable?Replaceable batteries allow users to reuse PINhandy after the run down of battery, rather than to scrap it and create electronic waste.
