• ACS Launches ACM1252U-Z6 Small NFC Reader Module

  HONG KONG, 9 Mar, 2020 - Advanced Card Systems Ltd. (ACS), Asia Pacific's top supplier and one of the world's top 3 suppliers of PC-linked smart card readers (Source: Frost & Sullivan), launches the ACM1252U-Z6 Small NFC Reader Module. The ACM1252U-Z6 shares the same core and functionality with ACM1252U-Z2 differing only on its connector type. An NFC reader module with FFC connector, consuming lesser space through its cable’s small footprint, makes it suitable for integration into smaller systems, e.g. handheld devices, tablets, and laptops. Like the ACM1252U-Z2, it is developed based on the 13.56 MHz contactless technology, supporting the three NFC modes including card reader or writer, card emulation and peer-to-peer communication, accepting not only ISO 14443 Type A and B cards, MIFARE®, FeliCa®, and ISO 18092–compliant NFC tags, but also other NFC devices, with an access speed of up to 424 Kbps and proximity operating distance of up to 30 mm (depending on tag type used). The ACM1252U-Z6 offers post-deployment firmware upgrade eliminating the need for additional hardware modification. This PC/SC-compliant device also allows interoperability across different applications and platforms, and provides high-speed communication ability for contactless cards and NFC tags or devices. • ACS Products Support Electric Vehicle Inspection in Japan

  HONG KONG, 25 July, 2023 — Advanced Card Systems Ltd. (ACS), Asia Pacific's top supplier and one of the world's top 3 suppliers of PC-linked smart card readers (Source: Frost & Sullivan), is delighted to announce that ACS products are now compatible with electronic vehicle inspection operations in Japan.  Since January 2023, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan has implemented digitization of the electronic vehicle inspection, greatly reducing the size of the inspection certificate as well as the required application procedures.  The new inspection certificate will be in an A6 sized IC Tag format, and allows organizations or users to revise records such as income and valid period of the certificate.    To support the digitization process, the Ministry plans to launch a “Vehicle Inspection App” which allows users to view their vehicle inspection information on a smartphone, tablet or computer by scanning their IC Tag.  NFC readers can also be used by users or inspectors to scan and read IC Tags with a computer.    The following ACS products have been confirmed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism’s for inspection use.
