ACS Awarded with The 2007 Top Smart Card Reader Supplier in China
ACS Hong Kong, 03 Jun 2008 – Advanced Card Systems Ltd. (HONG KONG STOCK Exchange: 8210, www.acs.com.hk), Asia Pacific’s number one supplier in PC-linked smart card readers industry (Source: research report issued by Frost & Sullivan), is proud to announce that it is awarded with “The 2007 Top Smart Card Reader Supplier in China” in the 10th International Smart Card and RFID Technology Exhibition and Purchase, China 2008 (SCPC 2008). ACS stood out in the competition for the SMART prize, the highest accolade in the Chinese smart card industry, which is sponsored jointly by China Information Industry Chamber of Commerce and China Software Industry Association and supervised by the State Leading Group Office of Golden Cards Projects Coordination, and was honored with “The Top Smart Card Reader Provider 2007”. Gilbert Leung, ACS’ sales director, received this prize on behalf of the company. The SMART prize representing was established to publicize the outstanding achievements and to build a role model in the Chinese smart card industry so as to facilitate its fast development. The competitors should experience such strict appraising steps as application, purchaser voting, on-line voting and expert commenting. ACS’ winning of the prize fully proves its excellent reputation, first class product quality and perfect after-sales service. After the receipt of the prize, Mr. Leung stated in the interview by the reporter of the sponsor that ACS had been devoted to the smart card reader industry for 13 years from 1995 and successfully popularized its products in various fields such as banking, transportation and telecommunication. When asked as an international company, what ACS was depended upon to occupy the mainland market, Mr. Leung replied, “Our leading cards are our super products and advanced and successful project experience. The world’s first NFC card reader compliant to CCID standard was born in ACS last year and has been successfully applied in a VoIP phone project using the Octopus Card in Hong Kong. ACS sales increased by 62 percent to HK$96.1 million for 2008 from HK$59.3 million for 2007
Hong Kong, 14 Apr, 2009 - Advanced Card Systems Holdings Ltd. (hereafter referred to as ACS), a company listed on The Hong Kong Stock Exchange (Stock Code: 8210), announced its annual results for the full year ended December 31, 2008. Advanced Card Systems Holdings Ltd. is the 100% shareholder of Advanced Card Systems Ltd (www.acs.com.hk). which has its headquarters in Hong Kong and is Asia Pacific’s top supplier of PC-linked smart card readers, according to Frost & Sullivan. The year of 2008 was a year of growth for ACS, in sales revenue and in net profit. In 2008, the sales increased by 62% to HK$96.1 million from HK$59.3 million for 2007. The net profit after tax more than doubled to HK$9.7 million from HK$4.3 million. ACS grew its business in all three broad lines of business, namely, smart cards, smart card readers, and design and consultation services. The regional breakdown indicates that Europe and Asia Pacific represented 60% and 25% of the sales of ACS in 2008 respectively with the 15% balance accounted for by The Americas, Middle East and Africa. ACS launched new smart cards and smart card readers to the market in 2008. More new products are in the pipeline in 2009. ACS to give a speech in Directions for NFC and Mobile Contactless Business in Japan

ACS offers elective course in De La Salle University-Manila
DLSU was founded as a college in 1911 by the Brothers of the Christian Schools. Today, it is one of the top universities in the Philippines. The smart card technology course syllabus was drafted and the course is being conducted by ACS experienced professionals as an elective course for DLSU’s Software Technology Department this year. Currently, the students are using state-of-the-art ACS products such as the ACR128 DualBoost Smart Card Reader, the ACR38 Smart Card Reader and the ACOS3 Microprocessor Card to explore the capabilities and understand real-world applications of smart card technology. Hence, the program provides students direct exposure to smart card technology and its limitless potential. “Through this cooperation with DLSU, ACS hopes that the students will develop and implement some smart card solutions for the University and other organizations in the Philippines that can be beneficial to the country’s IT industry growth,” ACS CEO and Chairman Denny Wong remarked.
