  • ACS's 2014 Revenue Increases by 27% to HK$246.3 million

HONG KONG, 27 February 2015 – Advanced Card Systems Holdings Ltd. (SEHK; 8210) (“ACSH”) and its subsidiaries (“ACS” or the “Group”), one of the major suppliers of PC-linked smart card readers, today announced its audited annual results for the year ended 31 December 2014. The year 2014 was a rewarding year for ACS as the Group has achieved an excellent performance in all aspects of its businesses. During the year under review, the Group reported a record high sales revenue of HK$246 million, surging 27% over the same period last year. Gross profit and net profit also rose 8% and 2% to HK$122 million and HK$24 million respectively. Driven by the fast-growing AFC solutions business in the region, the Group’s business in the Asia Pacific region performed exceptionally well with a remarkable revenue growth of 73%. Basic earnings per share were HK8.352 cents. To reward shareholders for their support, the Board recommended payment of a final dividend of HK2.0 cents per share (2013: HK2.0 cents). Mr. Wong Yiu Chu, founder and CEO of ACS said, “ACS has sustained its growth momentum during the last year, further cementing its position in the smart card and smart card reader sectors to generate steady revenue streams which will be in part reinvested to develop other products and end-to-end smart card related solutions over the long term. By providing new products such as mobile card readers and end-to-end solutions such as automated fare collection systems, retail and loyalty systems, as well as other electronic purse and payment systems, the Group is gaining entry to emerging as well as larger markets.” Sales revenue generated from smart cards more than doubled compared to 2013. During the year, the Group has secured several impressive projects. For example, ACS was chosen as the smart card supplier for a social security smart card project in Ghana, a western African country. The Group supplied 1.7 million smart cards capable of securely storing and processing sensitive information for managing pensions and similar forms of national social insurance. Furthermore, ACS is capable of supporting public key infrastructure applications, which would facilitate long-term plans of the government to use smart cards for a wider variety of government services. In addition to the traditional PC- based products, the Group has launched new products for mobile platforms in 2014. To cater to the increasing demand for mobile banking, mobile payment, e-healthcare, and loyalty applications, the Group has successfully developed two new readers for SIM-sized smart cards and two new mobile card readers with audio-jack interfaces during the year under review. As the Monetary Board of the Philippines has mandated all ATM cards to implement an end-to-end triple DES encryption and EMV chips, the Group has set up a joint venture company, with two independent third parties to establish an EMV-certified smart card personalization center in the Philippines in order to capture the business from all local banks. On top of its hardware business, ACS has also successfully entered the end-to-end solutions business in recent years. Since the successful launch in 2013 of our e-PLUS Tap to Pay loyalty program for SM, one of the biggest shopping mall operators in the Philippines, more than 1,300,000 contactless smart cards have been issued. Building on this success, the Group has extended its service to SM Cinema by installing 128 ticketing kiosks and 253 turnstiles in 48 SM-operated shopping malls across the Philippines in 2014. In addition, the Group has also helped SM retrofit its turnstiles system in the MOA Arena in Manila, an indoor event venue in the SM MOA Complex for music concerts and sporting events with a seating capacity of up to 20,000. ACS is leveraging this initial success with SM to expand this business model to partners elsewhere in Southeast Asia such as Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Additionally, in the year under review the Group has acquired certain business assets of Daming Wuzhou, one of the largest AFC system suppliers in the PRC. With AFC systems deployed in more than 40 cities across the PRC, the Group can further leverage Daming Wuzhou’s existing customer network as well as its other experience to further penetrate the AFC and payment solutions market there. Furthermore, by integrating ACS’ existing technical knowledge and operational experience with that of Daming Wuzhou, the Group could then provide advanced technologies incorporating sophisticated operational techniques in the PRC. Mr. Wong concluded, “Moving forward, ACS will continue to develop a wide range of smart card operation systems and readers to capture the opportunities arising from the rapid take-up of digitalization and e-commerce, especially in the payment and AFC segments. ACS is accumulating technical expertise through constantly reinvesting in research and development and acquisitions, and forging partnerships with companies globally. We are confident that ACS would be able to enter and compete in previously unserved markets that are larger and have higher gross profit margins. With its increasingly sophisticated technology offerings backed by strong technical expertise and reputation, the Group is in a good position to expand its business in the short- as well as the long-term.” About Advanced Card Systems Holdings Ltd. Founded in 1995, ACS is one of the major suppliers of PC-linked smart card readers. ACSH’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Advanced Card Systems Limited, was a winner of the Asia Pacific Product Quality Leadership Award for Smart Card Readers from Frost & Sullivan in 2009. • ACS Discusses Transport Issues and Solutions in Open Identification and Payments Summit 2015

HONG KONG, 17 MARCH, 2015 - Advanced Card Systems Ltd. (ACS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Advanced Card Systems Holdings Ltd., SEHK: 8210), Asia Pacific's top supplier and one of the world's top 3 suppliers of PC-linked smart card readers (Source: Frost & Sullivan), was a speaker in Open Identification and Payments Summit 2015, a conference and tradeshow organized by Smart Card Alliance Latin America (SCALA) for smart card issuers and users. The event was held from 3 to 5 March, in San Jose, Costa Rica. ACS Regional Sales Manager, Bryan Javier, delivered a presentation entitled, TaptoPay: Transit in the Philippines and Beyond. Bryan used the Philippine business case as an example, showing how ACS technologies have addressed the unique issues and challenges related to transport in the Philippine context, and how the same technologies may address transport issues elsewhere worldwide. Bryan identified issues such as poor transport infrastructure, weak mass traffic systems, and heavy traffic congestion. Transit agencies are also looking for solutions that will increase business efficiency, cater to other customer needs, reduce costs over the long-term, broaden their customer base, and allow interoperability. A smart card‒based system presents viable answers to all of these requirements. In addition to enabling AFC applications, the system can unify other applications (e.g. loyalty and micropayment) under the same platform. Thus, such a system caters to a wider range of needs. By minimizing cash handling, they reduce short-term operational costs and generate long-term savings for transit operators. By increasing efficiency and convenience, the system attracts more customers. And by adhering to major standards, it is guaranteed to be future-proof and interoperable with other systems.ACS’s technologies and end-to-end solutions are developed in-house. This enables ACS to be flexible, quick, and cost-effective when customizing a solution to suit customers’ needs. • ACS Presents New Solutions and Collaborations in Japan Retail Tech 2015

HONG KONG, 19 MARCH, 2015 - Advanced Card Systems Ltd. (ACS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Advanced Card Systems Holdings Ltd., SEHK: 8210), Asia Pacific's top supplier and one of the world's top 3 suppliers of PC-linked smart card readers (Source: Frost & Sullivan), was an exhibitor in Retail Tech Japan 2015. The event was held from 3 to 6 March in Tokyo. ACS and its co-presenter, Hitachi Maxell Ltd, conducted on-floor presentations showing projects they have collaborated on. Maxell is a provider for the Energy, Industrial Materials, and Electronic Appliance and Consumer segments. One of the projects shown is a PC logon application, where ACS provided ACR122 NFC readers to enable logical access control. Through ACR122 and a smart card, enterprises and individuals will be able to gain access into personal computers, databases, and other resources more conveniently. ACS also showed its latest products: ACR35 NFC MobileMate, a mobile card reader that supports magnetic stripe cards and NFC tags, ACR1252, one of the first readers in the industry certified by the NFC Forum to be capable of performing all three NFC modes (read/write, card emulation, and peer-to-peer communication) and ACR123, an intelligent contactless reader supporting multiple contactless payment applications: MasterCard® PayPass™, Visa payWave®, AMEX ExpressPay® and Apple Pay. Finally, ACS and Maxell also raffled off NFC sports watches, one for each day of the event. That NFC watch demonstrates another of NFC’s possibilities: information pertaining to the user’s sports performance (e.g. running speed) may be stored in the watch. To transfer collected information to a PC for the user’s reference, the watch will simply need to be tapped to the ACR122U NFC reader. The user will then be able to track his own progress and work out a more suitable training plan. ACS advocates NFC innovation by bringing highly functional readers to the market and by developing comprehensive NFC-based systems. The event was held from 25 to 27 March at the international convention center in Valley View HotSpring Resort Hotel, Conghua, Guangzhou, China. In June, 2014, ACS acquired certain business assets from Shenzhen Daming Wuzhou City Smart Card Technology Company Limited ("DMWZ"), one of the major automatic fare collection (AFC) suppliers in China, providing hardware and all-in-one card solutions. Through the acquisition, ACS can have much better access to AFC customers, and strengthen its position as a provider of AFC solutions in China. ACS established TapToPay (Shenzhen) Ltd. to take over DMWZ's entire city smart card business in the country. ACS invited to the conference around 100 participants that were mainly operators or transportation and city smart card companies from over 50 cities in China. The management introduced ACS and TapToPay, demonstrated products and systems, and shared successful global business cases with the guests. It is believed that through on-site presentations and explanations, customers will gain a clearer and more thorough understanding of both ACS and TapToPay’s products and businesses. • ACS Loyalty Solution Shortlisted in Contactless and Mobile Awards 2015

HONG KONG, 09 Apr, 2015 - Advanced Card Systems Ltd. (ACS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Advanced Card Systems Holdings Ltd., SEHK: 8210), Asia Pacific's top supplier and one of the world's top 3 suppliers of PC-linked smart card readers (Source: Frost & Sullivan), is a finalist in the loyalty category of Contactless and Mobile Awards (CMA) 2015. CMA recognizes companies, organizations, and retailers who have done the most to embrace near field communication (NFC) technology, and implement it in day-to-day activities. CMA is sponsored by Visa. Winners will be announced on 28 April, in the Contactless Intelligence Conference in London, UK. ACS’s entry is e-PLUS Tap to Pay, an end-to-end loyalty, e-payment, and automated fare collection (AFC) solution for SM Prime Holdings Inc. (SM), the largest mall operator, developer, and retail company in the Philippines. In its first year of operation, e-PLUS received extensive international recognition. It has also been presented in trade shows and conferences, and is considered the most far-reaching system of its kind in the Philippines-an important first step towards educating the general Filipino public on the benefits of smart card technology. As a testament to the effectiveness of NFC in facilitating faster and more rewarding transactions for the Filipino public, e-PLUS has exceeded its adoption targets, such that SM is now aiming to have ten million cardholders in five years. “Our projects prove how ACS champions NFC,” says Gilbert Leung, Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing. “e-PLUS and our other projects have continued to raise consumer awareness about NFC and use NFC to improve the day-to-day activities of end users.” For more information about NFC solutions, email [email protected] or visit www.acs.com.hk. • ACS Solutions Shortlisted in Smart Awards Asia 2015

HONG KONG, 14 April, 2015 - Advanced Card Systems Ltd. (ACS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Advanced Card Systems Holdings Ltd., SEHK: 8210), Asia Pacific's top supplier and one of the world's top 3 suppliers of PC-linked smart card readers (Source: Frost & Sullivan), is a finalist for the Best Loyalty Program and Best Payment Innovation categories in Smart Awards Asia 2015. ACS’s entry for Best Loyalty Program is e-PLUS Tap to Pay, an end-to-end loyalty and payment system for the biggest mall operator, developer, and retail company in the Philippines. e-PLUS is a powerful platform for loyalty because it unifies a comprehensive range of merchants and service providers under one system. For consumers, this means exposure to more options and benefits, making the search for the most competitive goods and services easier. For merchants, this means wider reach, as they have a convenient way to offer perks to a broader customer base. The system also provides merchants and service providers with on-demand access to data. Such data include customer demographics, transaction times, and so forth. Access to such information can yield insight on how to improve future loyalty programs and other business activities. Meanwhile, ACS’s entry for Best Payment Innovation is the Abiria Card, a stored value contactless smart card, loaded with e-money and used to pay fares for public transport in Kenya. One of the innovative features of the Abiria Card is the deferred-reloading function, which serves as an additional top-up channel for fare cards (the other one being the physical brick-and-mortar reloading center). Through the deferred-reloading function, commuters can top up fare cards anytime and anywhere using mobile money. Deferred reloading is important because it makes the transition from cash-based to electronic payments painless for commuters. Mobile money is a fixture among Kenyans, even among the poor. By choosing a prevalent feature of enabling top-ups in daily life, the system is able to deliver smart card‒based solutions to a wider segment of society. Deferred reloading is also a workaround to the relatively underdeveloped reloading infrastructure in Kenya. Smart Awards Asia 2015 is an annual event that honors excellence in the card, payment, and retail industries. It is organized by Terrapin, a company that has been organizing business events globally for over 25 years. Winners will be announced on 22 April 2015. “ACS solutions are increasingly being recognized in the international arena,” says Gilbert Leung, Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing. “The recognitions we receive are proof that we are serving customers and contributing to communities in an innovative and sustainable manner. We have yet another reason to further improve our technologies and solutions.” For more information on ACS solutions, email [email protected] or visit www.acs.com.hk.
